We Live in an Interfaith World

We live in a complex faith world; it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the diversity. Theology as a Second Language and the Spiritual Mentoring Institute are curricula designed to help organizational ambassadors and organizational leaders to move from a simple stance of “live and let live” to a more informed and compassionate stance of “how can we help each other live well?”

Theology as a Second Language is designed for use with mature members of faith organizations to help form them as Spiritual Mentors and Ambassadors to the wider religious community. It was designed and piloted at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Owensboro (UUCO.) Through a grant from the Louisville Institute, the curriculum has been revised and expanded for wider use.

The Spiritual Mentoring Institute is a week-long intensive based on the curriculum, Theology as a Second Language. The Institute introduces organizational leaders (ministers, religious educators, service coordinators, etc.) to the philosophy, tools, skills, and information that will help you personally and institutionally to be a better interfaith neighbor.
